Housing to replace Touchless Car Wash? Neighbors, say YES!
Supporters of housing in SF who live in the Haight and Western Addition*, now or soon will be the time to put your money where your mouth is (or rather, your voice where it counts). Sure, we want more housing in SOMA and the Mission – but we also need to support it here, where right now we have a very nice car wash but one that is much better suited to a suburban setting.
Fortunately “[t]he current car wash building was constructed in 1988, according to Page & Turnbull, and thus would not be considered historic.” (sigh of relief!)
I will miss the gift shop. They could open one on the first floor of the new building, maybe with a bar or cafe.
*Even if I didn’t hate the term “NoPa”, this is most definitely NOT in that area – it’s to the southeast. You might call it Alamo Square.
